We are a small, but very welcoming country church situated at the end of a quiet lane, off the B4084, two miles from junction 7 of the M5 motorway. Our post code is WR7 4RE. We are part of the Parish of Stoulton with Drakes Broughton. The PCC is responsible for two beautiful buildings St Edmund's in Stoulton and St. Barnabas' in Drakes Broughton. Our vicar is the Reverent Emma Goldby.
Our services currently take place weekly on Sunday mornings at 9.30 am. 5th Sunday services revolve around the group of parishes situated to the north of Pershore.
We love having visitors - do join us. Many of our services take place in the chancel which is warmer and more intimate than the nave. For festivals, wedding and funerals and special events we use the full church. We love welcoming visitors so do join us - if you are coming a distance be warned, we have neither a toilet nor internal running water! If you want to book a wedding it might be prudent to book the Village Hall as well, this will make sure your visitors have access to facilities.
Our building around 900 years old but you would never believe it. It is a simple, two cell early Norman building, the footprint has not changed over the centuries. We are not sure about the tower, we do know that the current tower was built in 1936 and that there have been at least two previous towers. Inside the tower is a ring of 6 bells. They are rung regularly - the ringers will ring for weddings if arranged in advance.
In October 2017 we won first prize in the Ecclesiastical 'Great Community Mural' Competition. The £10K prize money enabled the start of a building development programme which has now seen the upgrading and reordering of the building, the installation of a new heating system and the reopening of a doorway blocked up for 200 years. The new double glazed door has brought light and new life to this sacred place.
